The M2 Summer Music Camp, held from July 12 & 14-19 (Day Camp), and July 11-20 (Boarding) at The Dunn School, is an immersive music summer program designed to give children and teens, ages 8-18 of all musical backgrounds, the experience of learning music and playing an instrument. Students will be mentored by actively performing musicians and artists who will will prepare them for a public musical showcase. The program fosters a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and stage skills in our students. The ultimate goal of M2 is not only to improve a student’s musical literacy and performance skills, but also to develop organizational and interpersonal skills and knowledge which can then be applied in their everyday lives.
Students do not need to have any prior musical experience, and will learn the basics of reading music, playing musical instruments individually and in groups, and have the opportunity to explore other performance disciplines like dance, theater, and creative writing.
The final public showcase will offer our students a chance to demonstrate what they learned throughout the course of the week and will be held alongside our faculty, students from our M2 Piano Intensive Program, and other professional acts.
Not only will students have the opportunity to meet and work with peers from around the local community, but interact with students coming from around the country and abroad participating in our M2 Piano Intensive Program and M2 Camp Boarding Program. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about other musical and cultural perspectives from students of a similar age.
Designed for motivated and talented young artists who are interested in exploring music with a collaborative mindset.
